Private tutor in Cebu City, Philippines

Education

Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science at University of Cebu (2013-2017) Juris Doctor (Law) at University of Cebu - School of Law (2018-2020) > University Scholar > Consistent Top Student I also had the opportunity to work in the Commission on Human Rights where I had the honor to work with lawyers who had a passion for upholding human rights. My training lasted for about two months and I sure did learn a lot.

Experience

All for the love of learning. I have had experience with tutoring but not anything like I made to earn a living. I was a volunteer for a couple of organizations where we would teach communities in relation to our various outreach programs. I want to become a tutor because I want to continue this passion while pursuing my Law degree. I do not want to set it aside just because I am pursuing a dream. For a more practical reason, I want to be a tutor because it will help me earn while doing things that are still within the bounds of the academe. It's like doing something beyond my law degree but still is a good brain exercise. I could not imagine myself not being in the academe. That is why, anything I do either for leisure or for a living, is still within the bounds of the academe. If I would be given the chance to become a tutor, I am fairly confident that it is not just my students who are going to learn, I am definitely going to learn a lot from them as well. Currently, I am pursuing my Law degree at one of the Philippines' top law schools currently ranking 6th place. I was part of our school's official English and Filipino publication in highschool where I worked as a Feature Writer and a Sportswriter at the same time. I was also a member of our debating team in college where I also had the honor to represent our school in various debate competitions. Currently, I am a member of our law school's Mooting Team. Just February this year, I was sent to Manila in order to represent our school in the world's biggest and most prestigious moot court competition -- the Philip C. Jessup International Moot. I am a strong believer that learning should not be limited to the four walls of the classroom. Learning is supposed to be fun not boring and I intend to be the coolest tutor there is. I want to make sure my students will never have to hate having to attend classes. I can only guarantee a fun learning experience all the time; like how every class should be.

Hobbies

I definitely am a bookworm. Even though I am an adult already, I still prefer reading children's books and I am a huge fan of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. As someone who's juggling both work and school, I feel like I need to find a way to escape from everything that is stressful. Reading children's books brings me back to my childhood days where I had less things to worry about. Even at age 23 I still read fairytale books; nothing can compare to the wonders that fairytale stories could bring you. Other than spoiling myself with children's books, I also love to run. It has been my constant way of working out because it doesn't feel like exercising at all. I have always loved morning runs. I used to run in the ricefield as a child but living in the city now, I could only do so much with running in the most peaceful and quiet part of the city. Finally, on days when I don't feel like going out or opening a book, I would ask my Mom to help me cook my favorite comfort food. Clearly, my hobbies and interests are all patterned to reducing stress. It's kind of my way of balancing everything. If I do not do something to distress myself, I'm definitely going to lose focus on everything. This is one of the things which I hope to teach my students as well. That we can pursue our goals and dreams but not at the expense of our well-being. We can choose to succeed in life and reach greater heights but that does not necessarily mean that we disconnect from the things that we used to love and find comfort in. It's all about balance.
